More ways to keep your cookies in festive condition when traveling

Christina Tosi offers a helpful tip for certain types of cookies. "When shipping fudgy cookies that will be in transit for a day or two, include a slice of bread to keep them soft and fresh," she advises. If you're bringing cookies along for your journey, it's best to carry them with you instead of checking them in, as the TSA permits them on airplanes. We've successfully traveled from New York to London with a batch of cookies packed in just a simple white box tied with string from an Italian bakery, and they arrived perfectly intact. You could also use a snack box, as long as the shapes and sizes fit well together. For cookies that are particularly fragile or very soft, consider placing a cardboard divider between layers. This will help prevent breakage for the former and maintain the shape of the latter.
Once you've mastered your cookie-packing skills, you can try your hand at a complimentary candy cane pretzel bark cookie available at select Milk Bar locations in New York City, Los Angeles, and D.C. on December 4th, 2024. Tosi developed this recipe as part of her McCormick Cookie Quest collaboration, which also features a social media contest with a $10,000 prize running until December 8th.
