The history of the King George II Inn

Not only is the King George II Inn the oldest bar in Pennsylvania, but it was also established in the same year that Pennsylvania became a U.S. territory: 1681. As if that weren't enough, it once welcomed the first U.S. president, George Washington. During the Revolutionary War, the inn served as a headquarters for General Cadwalader and his troops, highlighting its significance in Pennsylvania's history. Legend has it that soldiers even shot down the inn's sign during the conflict.
The inn is more than just a historic bar; it offers ample lodging, five dining rooms, and a riverfront patio. While it takes pride in its rich history, it also boasts a reputation for serving high-quality drinks and dishes that complement each other, a tradition that has thrived since its inception in 1681. Fun fact: Pennsylvania is also home to the largest buffet in America.
