Why Kroger Buffalo Wing Sauce can't compete

To maintain her ranking fairly, Lauren Bair chose to use medium heat whenever she could and was well-equipped to spot a lackluster brand when she encountered one. However, it wasn't all negative for Kroger's Buffalo sauce. Bair observed that the condiment had a rich, thick texture when poured from the bottle. The color, on the other hand, raised significant concerns for her, and indeed, she discovered that the unusual pale orange shade of Kroger Buffalo Wing Sauce was accompanied by a flavor that lacked any real kick or excitement.
In contrast, the benchmark for medium wing sauce, Wing-Time Medium Buffalo Wing Sauce, showcased a complex, layered flavor profile with a noticeable zest. Bair noted that Kroger's version, however, tasted rather flat and one-dimensional. In the realm of tangy vinegar, subtle peppery notes, and a hint of heat, the more subdued Kroger sauce struggled to compete. With a plethora of choices available, Kroger inadvertently suggests that more renowned products or those with more eye-catching packaging might justify their higher price — at least in the case of Buffalo wing sauce.
