What makes TJ's Fiery Chicken Vindaloo a hellacious experience

When Sarah Moore developed her ranking system, she considered several elements that could elevate a dish: Is the seasoning on point? Does the product offer substantial nutritional benefits? Is it something you want to keep eating? Conversely, there were just as many indicators that could suggest a dish isn't worth your time: Does it lack flavor? Is the texture overly watery? Is it prohibitively expensive?
Regrettably, every member of Moore's family gave Fiery Chicken Vindaloo low marks across the board. The most damning critique came to mind immediately: This dish tasted artificial. The meat was so dry that no amount of sauce could salvage it, resembling the texture of stiff cardboard. The spicy sauce was excessively hot, leading to the concerning thought that the off-flavor sauce packet might have been expired (though it wasn't). Additionally, while we wouldn't recommend purchasing this product at any price, it was quite pricey at $4.49. It's best to skip the vindaloo and choose other warming entrees that received high scores, such as Trader Joe's Madras Lentils or Butter Chicken.
For the sake of your palate, we must also mention that Trader Joe's Yellow Tadka Dal came in a very close second to last with a mere 1.4 points. The flavor was simply off, to the point of inducing a few gag reflexes. Also ranking poorly (or highly on the "gross" scale) was the Tikka Vegetables. Moore points out that while other tikka-sauced items from Trader Joe's are delightful (like the Mini Chicken Tikka Samosas or Chicken Tikka Masala), this particular version missed the mark, earning just 1.6 points.
