Costco's outside yogurt supplier

Ehrmann is a German dairy company that was established in 1920. In 2011, it opened a production facility in Vermont, shortly before forming a partnership with Costco (in the U.S., Ehrmann operates under the name Commonwealth Dairy). In addition to its collaboration with Costco, Ehrmann produces several yogurt brands, including Yoginos Greek yogurt and Lacto Zero fruit yogurts, while its Vermont location also markets its own brands like Green Mountain Creamery. Some of the yogurt produced in Vermont is sold to other companies under private labels. Besides supplying Costco (though Ehrmann has not confirmed that the yogurt provided to Costco is labeled as Kirkland Signature), the Vermont facility also distributes yogurt to Wegmans, likely including the plain Greek yogurt sold under Wegmans' own brand.
Regardless of the brand or retailer, Ehrmann Greek yogurt is a typical plain, non-fat yogurt. It can be enjoyed on its own or used as a substitute for mayonnaise or dressing. It is also a key ingredient in tzatziki and vegetable dips. Greek yogurt has a shelf life of one to two weeks in the refrigerator, so there's no need to worry about purchasing those 3-pound bulk tubs from Costco — you'll have plenty of time to consume it.
