About Triple XXX root beer

Before the Triple XXX Family Restaurant opened in Indiana, Triple XXX root beer was created at a brewery in Galveston, Texas, in 1895. Thirst stations emerged across the nation, offering Triple XXX-branded root beer. The Indiana location welcomed its first customers in 1929, serving the iconic drink that inspired its name alongside delicious, classic American fare.
When Indiana's Triple XXX Family Restaurant debuted, thirst stations were at their peak popularity, with over 100 root beer stands operating throughout the United States and Canada. These thirst stations collaborated with more than 150 root beer bottlers to provide refreshing, frothy, ice-cold drinks for travelers and families.
Today, Triple XXX-branded root beer is exclusively bottled in Chicago. Meanwhile, the Triple XXX Family Restaurant remains the last of the thirst stations. This family-owned and operated establishment continues to uphold the tradition of serving high-quality, ice-cold root beer, complemented by mouthwatering burgers that have even caught the attention of Guy Fieri.
