Is Naked Juice behind Trader Joe's juices?

Eater reports that they examined FDA and USDA recalls to identify some of the prominent companies behind Trader Joe's private label products, including PepsiCo, which owned Naked Juice until 2021. A significant piece of evidence connecting the two brands is a recall of Naked Juice products in 2008 due to yeast and lactic acid bacteria contamination after they were supplied to Trader Joe's.
Additionally, it's noteworthy that the ingredients in Naked Juice and Trader Joe's smoothies are quite similar. For example, Trader Joe's Mango juice primarily consists of mango puree, apple juice, orange juice, banana puree, lemon juice, natural flavor, and beta-carotene powder. All seven of these ingredients are also found in Naked Juice's Mighty Mango drink.
Similar parallels can be drawn between Trader Joe's "Very Green" juice and Naked Juice's Green Machine; however, the private label version contains less banana puree and omits kale from its ingredient list.
While this information may surprise some, it's important to recognize that many retailers outsource the production of their private-label brands. For instance, Walmart's Great Value has been associated with companies like Sara Lee and Kellogg, while Aldi, which features around 90% in-house brands, is reported to collaborate with companies such as House of Flavors and Smith Foods.
